My pins have been in use probably 15 years and have seen better days. I am quite lazy about removing them when sewing on my maching (shame on me), so many of them are dented and bent from being hit with the sewing needle. My pincushion is as old as the pins, so I thought that along with getting new pins, I should make a new pincushion.

Doesn't my old pincushion look like it's been loved and well used?

This was my inspiration (from Moda Bake Shop):

First I selected my fabric - some sweet pink and yellow fabrics from Lecien and then I got to sewing.

Her ser dere nesten ferdig nålepute, men ser dere at jeg slurvet med midten? Flaut!
Here is the almost completed pincushion. Can you see my sloppy work in the middle. Embarrasing! Good thing it was to be covered with a decorative button!

Only problem with the ugly area was that it was quite large and my button supply is quite small. So I decided to make a tiny yo-yo and add a covered button in the center.

Var ikke denne helt utrolig søt? Ja, kanskje litt FOR søt...
Isn't this just adorable? Maybe a little TOO cute... Sweet like cotton candy. Almost too cute to prick with sharp pins! Oh no, I have already started using it. But baby girl may inherit this for a doll pillow when she is old enough to play with dolls. That means I can make another pincushion soon:)

This is the tutorial I used for this pincushion (not the one from Moda)...
